First Baptist Church of Summerfield has welcomed Pastor Jeff Stading, who began serving the congregation in late summer, marking a new chapter for the church.
Pastor Stading brings more than 20 years of pastoral experience in Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from The Baptist University of Florida and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity. His ministry began as a youth pastor in Marianna and later included pastoral leadership roles in Tampa, Starke, Perry, and Hudson, N.C., where he helped guide churches through revitalization and growth. He has also served in leadership roles within Baptist associations and conventions.
Pastor Stading is supported by his wife, Adeena, a music teacher at East Marion Elementary who holds degrees in Christian Counseling and Music. The couple has three daughters: Hannah, Naomi, and Abigail, 12, who remains active in church life.
Under Pastor Stading’s leadership, the church has expanded opportunities for worship and fellowship, including Sunday night services at 5 p.m., Wednesday night Bible study and prayer at 6 p.m., a Wednesday youth group at 6 p.m., and a walking group meeting Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the Life Center. Sunday School continues at 9:45 a.m., followed by Sunday worship at 11 a.m., with new classes available for all ages.
