A Good Samaritan lent a hand Tuesday night after a vehicle rolled into a ditch in Ocklawaha, helping the driver out before firefighters arrived.
Marion County Fire Rescue was dispatched at 8:51 p.m. Aug. 11 to the 7000 block of SE 183rd Avenue Road following a report of a rollover crash with the driver possibly trapped inside.
Crews from East Marion Station #4 arrived at 8:58 p.m. and found a single vehicle resting on its side in a ditch.
Despite the initial report of entrapment, firefighters discovered the driver was already out of the vehicle. According to MCFR, a Good Samaritan had stopped at the scene and helped the driver escape before emergency crews arrived.
Fire rescue personnel treated the driver at the scene before transporting the patient for further medical evaluation.
